Quite a large proportion of people's pinkies are too short to reach the back of the cube to do an M2 with pinky+ring
(Me included, my pinky is 3 cm shorter than my ring finger )

In my case it's not as much a problem with length but with lack of independence of movement of the pinky and ring. If I do the first push with my pinky, that makes me move the ring and by the time I have ended the pinky push, the ring is already hitting the cube and cannot easily make the double flick.
