I use Petrus right now and I'm beginning to lose interest again. The days of 1-2 hours on the cube every day are gone. I want a new method. I'm wicked tired of cross building, and the aspect of block building strikes me as much more interesting. The Roux Method looks pretty sweet but I want to know if it's really worth it. I mean I spent a week learning all of the neccesary OLL's and PLL's for a Petrus last layer, and I just feel that if I switch that all that is for none. I don't plan on using both, although I just might. Aren't there "LL" algorthims that you need to learn for the Roux method? I'm perfectly capable of memorizing even 50 algorthims I just don't want to spend the time if Roux really isn't any faster. What kind of times do Roux speecubers get over Petrus? Any statisics?

Roux is just as fast as fridrich or petrus..seriously...

there is no LL for roux. all the algs are for CMLL

You need only 9 algs to do sub 20 (if you're really good at block building)
40 algs to manage a good sub - 16

I've tried petrus and fridrich and a bunch of other methods, but roux was the easiest for me and the fastest.

Gilles Roux himself can do sub-13
it only tales him 3 seconds per block so 6
2.5 CMLL
3 for the rest.
+/- recognition.

roux is my main, petrus for OH.

I can orient and permute corners fine but are their specific ones that do only corners better though? I mean are there algorithms that are faster as they are not restrained to mantain edge orientation? A.K.A shorter?

Yes, CMLL.

Yes, CMLL.

I'm making CMLL videos as a guide. But don't expect its release until december or late november at the earliest.

I've been playing with Roux on and off. My biggest problem with CMLL is recognition, though I haven't invested very much time into it. I do a two look LL corners using a corners only OLL, then either a T or a Y perm.

The interesting thing to me about CMLL is that the CMLL alg to swap two corners while preserving orientation is pretty much just as long as a T or a Y. Similarly, orienting without changing permutation is about the same as any COLL. But, if you permute and orient at the same time, the algs are significantly shorter than either a PLL or a COLL.

CMLL is pretty important to the whole method for speed, I just find it fun and I suck at the block building so much that the CMLL wouldn't do me much good until I got way better at it.

Since both Petrus and Roux are block building methods I really do assume I won'tick up any real time. Roux is simpler though isn't it? I mean color neutrality isn't even neccesary right? It's about recognition I believe. I can only do Petrus solves with either yellow or white as my D face because I never bothered learning the colors around the cube other then R,B,O,G.

Yes CMLL will kill the m-slice while orienting and permuting the LL corners.

However, I'd say recognition of CMLL compared to OLL/PLL is easier. since there are only 8 orientations including solved. and about 7(not for H case which has 4) Its lot easier to see rather than 57 OLL cases and 21 PLL cases.

heck yeah, OH petrus!!!
are me and waffo the only ones that use two different methods, one for OH?

also, I know ~15 methods, and roux is the one Im fastest at, i think it is a very balanced method.. after a month of fridrich, it took me 3 days to beat my old pb (with fridrich) and set a new PB(with roux).

OH petrus has too many y and x rotations.

OH petrus has too many y and x rotations.
but I don't like OH roux because slice turns in the early part are too damn hard. ( I actually like LSE though, its faster than it takes for me to execute a LL alg OH.)

because of that, I am considering using pikashit for OH.the 2x2x3 is decent, the C+OP can be done blisteringly fast OH, and I can just use normal CMLL's. also, the LSE can be done decently fast too.

I am using ZZ for OH
