I've been using the zz method for a while now and came up with this thought/idea. I have a feeling that this has been discussed before but I could not find it anywhere so:

Once done with your zzf2l , since you will already have all edges oriented , permute them by placing 2 adjacent and doing sune and then do 1 alg to solve the whole last layer?

In this way we can easily track our recognition and reduce algorithm count too.

Why is this better than solving the last layer in 2 algorithms with OCLL-PLL or COLL-EPLL as is common?

This is a less efficient version of ZZ-b.

This could be considered a stepping stone to phasing+ZZLL. The alg count is half of ZZLL, but the move count in the phasing step is much higher - 8 moves for sune+AUF compared to the 3 or 4 moves needed for phasing, and that's not counting the z-perm case. Given that the alg count is still relatively high for a 2LLL (>80), and that phasing takes a while to get used to anyway, I think it's probably not worth stopping at this when you could just go for full ZZLL. Also, other than 3 corner cycles, the algs for pure corners often aren't the nicest.
