So for 3x3 you can solve OCLL with sune variations using some simple rules

But what about megaminx?

How can I solve all the OCLLs using only sune variations?

What rules can I use to know how to position the corners and apply the sunes?

here are the cases: https://sarah.cubing.net/megaminx/ocll#alg/mega-ocll16
I don't know about full sune variations, but if many corners are disoriented, place a solved corner (if applicable) in the back, do a sune or antisune, and complete the last two corners with R' D R D'

What I do when I reach least layer is orient all the edges, and then look for a solved corner. If there is one, I put it in the back left-ish place, and then use a cross-solved OLL case from 3x3, or sometimes a modification.

Edit: Example:

For this case, I would use the double sune alg (with green in front).
