Hey everybody!

I was so excited to find this forum and seeing so many members being active :)

I'm yet a beginner with cubing and haven't learnt much yet, as I've been doing it actively about 2 weeks now. I just learnt F2L for 3x3 and got my first Pyraminx yesterday. I only own 1x1, 2x2, 3x3 and a Pyraminx so far. So here are my current records...

2x2: 8.56 (or 2.65 with 2 moves only...)
3x3: 52:16
Pyraminx: 12:15

I haven't counted any averages because first I want to learn faster solves.
I'm looking forward to learn new stuff from here and one of my first goals is to make my 3x3 record under 40s :)

And i'm from Finland, any other cubers from there besides me? I'd be interested to join some events in the future...

Welcome to the forums! I hope you have a great time here :)

Btw, what method do you use (I'm guessing CFOP cause of the F2L). As you're new, I think it would be beneficial for you to checkout a few other methods such as Roux and ZZ just to see if you like them more.

But don't be worried to ask questions. Everyone here is helpful and will give you as much advice as they can (as long as you don't bump really old threads. I would suggest having a look for a topic before asking though or just posting in recent new threads).

Also, you already own a 1x1? What's you Pb/Ao5? :p

Anyway, I hope you have fun on the forums! :)

Yes I use CFOP method for 3x3 :) Yet I am very unfamiliar with the piece movements and I tend to freeze several times during my solves because I can't remember where the pieces are at. It's just about time when I will understand how to think ahead and stuff like that. But if there are any general tips for learning that I'd be glad to receive some help :D I will definitely check out Roux and ZZ too!

My 1x1 Pb is 0.05 I think and average of 5 may be about 0.07

I use www.cubetimer.com for speedcubing, is that any different from the official timer?
I think it makes a little difference because when i'm about to stop the time it won't stop until I release the spacebar.... and it won't require placing both hands on the button.
But it should be good for a beginner like me though.

Thanks for the welcome :)

Tervetuloa!

Torilla tavataan!

Yeah at least Username, Ronxu, ollicubes and me are from Finland :)

How old are you btw?

You should come to next competition. I don't know yet when that is tough...

Oh yeah, and welcome on the forums and to finnish speedcubing community too.

Oh and onefinal thing: once you learn more I recommend you to learn BLD. It's fun :D

That doesn't use very good scrambles, and yes, like you said, it has the problem with spacebar. I'd recommend qqTimer instead. Much better in almost every way.

I use Prisma myself, which is a downloadable timer you can use offline, and also has the ability to do things like graphs. However I know some people don't want to download anything, and knowing about an online timer is good if you're ever on someone else's computer anyway. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)
Oh and I forgot I also have a 4x4 cube but it's just a very cheap version
I haven't looked much into it yet hence I forgot to even mention it in the first post

I'm 21 :)

I will try BLD when I feel i'd be ready for it :D I bet that'll be fun..

I agree! Kuinka ratkaista Rubikin kuutio sokkona: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2pYCZS0whVTrKSQ34M-vDvPFEZG3Qz3p There is my finnish tutorial for that. Don't be afraid, it's not that hard.

Kiitti :tu:cool:
