1st Sub-30 avg

If you read what people said in this thread, most people avg sub 30 within a half a year.

I think he was talking about one-handed. Not too many people have ever averaged sub-30 one-handed (17 so far in competition), but Mátyás went from a minute to sub-30 in about half a year.

Mátyás did 5 cubes in 9:31 at the Czech Open - that's averaging 2 minutes per solve! Memorizing 7 cubes at once really isn't all that impossible to imagine, though. Rowe Hessler has done 17 at once! But doing it at that speed is quite incredible.

I think your times really depend on A) What other puzzles you work on and B) amount of time you spend per day on them/it. It is tough to say "it took me 1 month to get sub-30" and compare it to "it took me 5 months to get sub-30". The 1 month guy may have practived 4 hours a day, and only worked on the 3x3. While the 8 month guy practiced 5 hours a day on all puzzles, including the 3x3. It really depends on the amount of hours per day you spend, not the amount of months you've been solving.

Indeed when he solved 7 cubes, he first had to memorize them all and then to solve them on at a time.

But nobody should forget John Louis who solved 7 out of 8 cubes, the last one being "unsolved" by just 2 flipped edges. ;-)

Oh.
I also heard that Rowe Hessler could do like 30 cubes if he wanted, either him or someone else.

On your 4LLL do you permute corners before you orient so you only have to permute edges at the end? But then you'd only have to know 4 PLLs, but if you permuted corners and edges at the end then you'd have to know 7 PLLs...
lol, what do you do for a 4LLL?

i started in late april and i am so close to sub30, so so close ;[,

EDIT - after writing this post i just did an average and broke sub30 :D:D:D

good job! that average time could be lower though! 23? 22? I'd say if you took it a little slower, you could get 26-27 second avg XD

I pushed myself 5 seconds from the sub30 on average, but I still get times like yours (even 30+)

so work on your F2L and get more consistant!

What about the other corner PLL? (The E perm)

You don't need it! This is how my recognition for corner PLL works:

0 pairs of opposite corner-stickers: Corner PLL skip
4 pairs of opposite corner-stickers: Diagonal swap
1 pair of opposite corner-stickers: Corner 3-cycle

E perm is a 4 pairs case so you can use the diagonal swap!
