I live in Australia and I think there is a law about companies not selling what they advertise. For example mac donald's got sued because their 'grilled' burgers weren't grilled. This is completely off topic and not related to cubing by the way.

So I'm wondering if say, I got a frozen coke that's not frozen (this happened) was it possible to sue them? (I don't intend to do so, but it aroused my curiousity.

Ask a lawyer. The answer is probably not, as long as frozen cokes are generally frozen (and there would probably be a specific definition around it). I think usually with advertising laws it's about being deliberately misleading on a large scale and things like that. If you go to a judge and are all like "dude my frozen coke totally wasn't even frozen" they'll tell you to get out of their courtroom.

You should have gone back to the store and complained.

It is always possible to sue (provided you can afford it :D). As to whether or not you'll win...

Sigh. I was in a school group. Even after I got my order the line was still tonna long. Everyone else's frozen cokes were alright. A friend who worked at HJ's said that if it came out the way I got mine, they were meant to throw it out. So he suggested I don't drink it. There goes $1...

Sue them for what? Losses? Damages? You might win your $1 back and spend $50,000 in legal fees in the process. Winner! Or more likely, the coke/shop will give you $10 just to go away and stop wasting their time.

I'll go with the second option. It's still a gain of $9 isn't it? :p
