...to record solves?

I'm interested in getting a camera for recording solves only so would appreciate if you guys could tell me what you use and what you think about it. Price would help too. Thanks.

I alternate between my Rebel T3i and my Galaxy S6 though I don't record that often.

I use a DSLR as well. Nikon d750. Agreed with Damian. The timer restriction absolutely sucks.

Chris I absolutely love your solve videos (table cam). I recently got a d3300 with a 18-270mm lens, and am hoping to film my next solves Chris-style.

A few things,

i) What timer restriction?
ii) What setup do you use? Is it a tripod, or do just plonk it straight on the table.
iii) Comps in my area have a giant window behind solves, with constantly changing lighting. Would you recommend just putting it on full auto, and auto focus also?

I see many people at comps filming with a phone / tablet using the front camera. Isn't this technically cheating?

yeah, according to regs, it is not allowed, if you see anyone at comps doing this, notify your delegate at the comp.

and to answwer the question on the thread, i use a gopro hero. i got it as my birthday present. i have a stackmat pro and mat at home so i test out with that to see where to exactly place the camera. it works well for me.
