Cube machine for sale?

Hey guys I'm new here,

I was curious if there is anything I can buy to scramble my cube for me? I've seen the cubestormer and mindcuber from lego but I can't find it for sale anywhere. Even then I'm not sure it scrambles it for you, only solves? I can solve a 3x3 in about 50 seconds but for some reason looking at a scramble notation sheet takes me like 2 minutes to scramble. It's time consuming since I want to keep solving fast. I'd love to have 2 cubes, put one in a scrambling machine while i fix the other and keep switching off.

Hahaha, I've never thought of ever needing a scrambling machine xD. At your level, you don't even need to scramble following an actual generated scramble. Just scramble in your own fashion, practicing finger tricks, turns, different moves as you scramble and make it super fast/fluid. At least in my opinion...

Keep practising scrambling. You'll get faster at it very quickly; it just takes a bit of time to get used to the notation.

Ya I guess stuff like B' or D slow me down since I try to picture which way clockwise or counter clockwise would be if held in a down or back position.

I'll do that, I just feel like if I get a new PR for myself I wouldn't count it since it wasn't an official scramble.

I actually handscrambled until I was averaging 35. I was a nub and hadn't realised that scrambles existed :P

Lolz but wont machines machines (at this particular moment) increase the likelihoods of chipping the stickers,

I have actually been thinking about this recently. More for the novelty than practicality. I have a Lego mindstorm kit which is easy enough to find, and have built a cube solving robot before. All it would take is a tweak in the program to make it scramble a cube.

The title of the thread leads me to believe that there might be a Cubing machine for sale and you have pictures of what it is going to look like, hence "Cubing Machine for sale?" But you are asking if there is a machine that scrambles cubes, so the right title would be "Is there a cubing machine for sale that scrambles puzzles?"

The question mark was enough to identify the thread as a query imho. Besides you find that out when you read the OP anyway. Stop being so pedantic.

In my eyes and experience it sounds like he has evidence of a cubing machine for sale and gets my hopes up, but its not the case. I just want the title to be changed.

Scrambling the cube would be a lot easier than solving it. You're only following a sequence of moves. Generate a random sequence of D,R,L etc and rotate the cube to do it. The logic is pretty simple.

I could do it that way, but I think I would prefer for it to generate a random cube state then work out a scramble, which is actually just an inverse solve. This is more inline with the way WCA scramble algs work.

Of course it would not have to determine the initial cube state unless you wanted it to be able to scramble a scrambled cube.

You can build your own EV3 version of MindCub3r from a single LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 set 31313. The build instructions and software are freely available from mindcuber.com

The latest version of the MindCub3r software v2p1 includes a scramble option that uses a random cube state (rather than random moves) from which it generates a scramble sequence and applies it to the cube in about 60 seconds.

Seems like a very good, very useful post. I think we should encourage necro posts like this one. Not all necro posts are bad - some are very good.

@IAssemble , thank you for your very useful post.

Sorry, was just pointing out the date of the original post, didn’t mean to offend or cause harm.
That's okay; I'm just trying to decrease the quick reactions to necro posts, since sometimes they're actually very nice.

Admittedly, this post might have been better as simply starting a new informational thread, since the OP here probably won't see this response. Still, the information is very welcome.
