I'm wondering how long people get stuck and don't improve much. For me, it's a month or so. I've averaged mid 13s for a while now, and I'm not improving much. I think I've averaged mid 13s for around 3 weeks. How long do you get stuck? What have been your barriers? Are they arbitrary, like mid 13s, or more common, like sub 15?

My hardest barrier was at 17 seconds. I got there very quickly and was completely stationary for a while (dont remember how long, maybe a whole month. Btw thats a long time for me). I finished full cmll, switched to y axis neutrality, learned BLD first block, and broke that barrier for good, and even broke sub 15 in that same week. Been improving steadily and barrier-less ever since.

i had alot of barriers, and they get progressively harder to overcome... been stuck at the 10 second barrier for pretty much a year now

I don't know, but I just recently got over a six-month 20 second barrier. It was stressful.

My longest was sub-20 (at least it felt the longest). I got there in 3.5 months and took thr same amount of time to break it (April). Now I average 12.7-13.7

I'm still stuck at a 13-14 average for maybe 3 and a half months now (Seems to be a popular barrier). Although there were a couple weeks when my hualong was still fairly new that I consistently averaged sub-12.5, but my hualong got really bad for some reason after a few months and I got bad with it... I don't know whats wrong with it but my dads hualong that's hardly used is 1000 times smoother and faster.

some cubes just get really bad from usage. my old dayan guhongs, despite cleaning them at least every month and carefully lubing with my standard procedure, are nowadays basically unusuable. i have other cubes though, that get really "broken in" and get better the more you use them, especially my fangshi and aolongs.

Well, I'm now aiming first to sub-12 and then to sub-10... I recently broke the sub-14 barrier... Idk, but I was stuck in sub-30 for long months, in early 2013, and then I improved my times drastically, getting sub-20 in no time.

Whatever, that was a long time ago

Thanks - encouraging to know.
From someone who is stuck in mid-20s.

I'm stuck at 12 seconds for 4 months now... I improved the most on February---March. At the middle of February I was averaging 15.5 secs but at the end of march I was averaging 12.9 secs. Now I average like 12.7.. I'm not improving :( .
