Dayan Zhanchi - bad colour recognition

Hi all

I bought my black Dayan Zhanchi the other day, and even though I am pretty impressed by how fast and smooth it is (especially compared to original Rubik's cube) I cannot stand those dark and dull colours it has (especially compared to original Rubik's cube's, which are pretty bright!).

Do all Dayan cubes have the same stickers? (zhanchi, guhong...) Which other good speedcubes are there that have a lot brighter and easier to recognise stickers? I know I can buy some extra stickers and replace the old ones, but I do not want to get messy and I would just prefer to have a nice new cube that has nice stickers!

Thanks

Yes all dayan comes with the same sticker shades. You don't get "messy" when changing stickers. It's a simple process. Check out cubesmith or the cubicle for new stickers. You don't need to buy a whole new cube to get new stickers. Just get new stickers.

All dayans come with that same sticker set. Although I think you should just buy a new set of stickers (half/full brights) and resticker your zhanchi yourself, if you really aren't going to then i think the Moyu Weilong would be the best option.

But why waste money? Restickering is easy.

also welcome to the forum.

Resticker that thing. Not hard at all. Use tweezers to place them, be OCD about getting them lined up right, and get Zhanchi fitted stickers. They are easier to put on because the corners of the stickers don't get stuck in the holes, and they look nice.

I like these stickers:

These are good too:

Thanks. And when I remove the old stickers, can I do it just by peeling them off? I don't really want to use any solvents, as they are known to damage the plastic of the pieces. Could I simply stick the new onces onto the old ones?

It's best to fully remove them. You can use an eraser to get any residue off.

Thanks, but I'm in the UK. Are there any UK online shops where to get those stickers? I found these http://www.puzl.co.uk/sets-3x3x3-vinyl-stickers-p-351.html are they any good? (bright?)

thanks

Don't use the Puzl ones, they're not great quality OR colours.

Cubesmith brights and Z stickers bright set are identical (I have both) in terms of colour and quality.

TheCubicle offer free shipping on large sticker orders, and low postage for <$15, and they have the best choice for colours, so you can make your own set. I have about 30 sheets of Cubicle fitted stickers (55mm). They're the same quality as the other 2, but the fitted corners stickers are very nice. I'm picky about my blues and oranges, so I stick with TheCubicle now, but that's really down to preference.

If you want a UK store, go with UKCubeStore, it's run by KongShou on the forum, and he's always on here (when not playing GTA!). If you order some Z stickers from him you'd have them next day - if you order from Cubicle you'll be waiting maybe a working week; if you order from CubeSmith you might wait a fortnight tops.

Welcome to the forum, always nice to have more UK cubers on here! :-D

What I did to get my halfbright sticker set was contacting MatejMuzatko, who I found here on forums and noticed he lives in the same area as I do, and he happened to have a lot of extra halfbright sets, because he bought stickers for 25$ from cubesmith to get free shipping. You can try to find and contact some cuber in your area and ask him about this. (This is also a great way to meet the community elsewhere than on competitions!)

Oh guys..... I was also having the same problem...... I have used Aolong V2 (white base) and now want to get Zanchi for more speed but few days later I have used my friend's zanchi (black base).... it's stickers are pretty bad and dull that my full bright aolong, and I was having difficulties to recognise the colors, and now I was confused to get white base or black base.... Can anyone suggest me? whether to get white base or black base. Is white base dull stickers will help me to recognise the colors?????

I always use white cubes for my mains I noticed a little more trouble in recognition on black cubes but nothing crazy. But if you're already using white might as well get what you are used to.
PS I don't really think the Zhanchi is faster the aolong pretty much out classes it in every aspect imo

Do people still use the Zhanchi lol?

Btw buying a Zhanchi for speed over an Aolong is like buying a Guanlong for better quality plastic.

So what do you guys think what should I do .... I think Zanchi has better speed than an aolong .... Only some pop problems which I can manage.... And what about v2 guhong and v6 panshi??
