Hi everyone,
With the recent influx of cubes and speed cubers I have decided to create a site dedicated to reviews and news (www.SpeedCubeReview.com). Now I understand that there are a ton of places for that. One being this forum, another YouTube, and others being practically every site that sells cubes. My goal is not to compete with those places. My hope is to organize much of that information that we often look for that is easily viewable, especially for those who are new. For that I need your help. The site is up and running right now but not completely finished (not even close at the moment). I hope to have a full site ready by the beginning of April. I have contacted some of the major cube reviewers and hope to work with many of them in the coming future. I also hope to have a "Buy now" function that would take you to a retailer for easy purchase straight from the site, but I am going to wait until the site is more complete before I talk to different online companies. There are a few other ideas floating in my head like Wallpapers, Guides, Algorithms, but for now I would like to keep the site focused

I need your help. Here is what you can do.

1. Go to the site (http://www.speedcubereview.com) and submit a review and maybe also a photo

2. Give me some tips on what you would like to see, and how I can make the site better. Please be constructive. I am really passionate about this, and although newer to speed cubing than many on this forum I hope this new site can help the community as a whole.

3. Like the Facebook page. (link at the bottom of the website)

Please be constructive with how to make the site better. I can understand the thought of "we don't need another site." I hope that the site will be able to bring all the information into one place.

Thank you in advance
-Shawn

I kind of prefer http://www.bestspeedcube.com/ but it's just very outdated.

I referred to that a lot when I got into cubing. I hope to stay up on this and not allow it to become old. Thank you to those who already posted a review. I may be slow on getting everything posted in the next few days (if I get a large amount of submissions) but I hope to stay as active as possible.

At least you include the date in the post so people know if it's outdated. I posted an aochuang review. I think you need a rating for lockups.

I think this is a great idea!
Nice to see someone contributing something new to the community.
One small negative is that I don't like the five colour blocks for the 1-5 reviews, it looks a bit jarring and wasn't immediately obvious what it meant (like the star rating is). That might be just me, though...I can see why you went for something in speedcubing colours.
But GJ!

I was going to post about that too. I think a red, yellow, green gradient or something like that would be better.
Anyway that is a really great idea !

I was thinking that too. I'm worried that that with 5 ratings + an overall it would look a bit cluttered. I figured if the cube locks much it could be posted in the review section.

My hope is that this will not ever look cluttered, and have a nice flow to it. I guess I will ask you guys if another 1-5 rating would be fine, or if posting in the review section would work for the locking portion.

Here is what it would look like with it added

Corner twists and popping scoring is confusing. For corner twists the less twists, the higher the score. For popping the less pops, the lower the score.

I have it currently that both corner twisting and popping go from 1 (very often) to 5 (very minimal). I can see the confusion with correcting that very minimal is 1. Possibly I will change the wording so it doesn't match the top for corner twists and popping.

The idea is that a fuller bar means good. I could change them to stars instead of boxes. Would that make it easier to read for everyone?
Here is what is would look like with just stars

I just got an idea. Ok. Please let me know what you think looks best.

1. Using the boxes. Which is what I have currently.

2. Using stars for everything

3. Using different colored stars
