[WR] Nathaniel Berg - Rubiks Clock 5.25 single

Why so negative ? He's excited because he got a WORLD record. He's the best person to EVER do this. Thats kind of a big deal...

Because it's distracting to others (yes, even in a speedsolve, particularly since it's likely an easy scramble where others could likely also set records). And because it's just weird, one guy yelling around so much in an otherwise quiet room. It's different when Dennis yells around in his home videos or the Russians all together destroy the microphone.

And I've had clock world records and some others before and I don't think I yelled around.

You got a far slower time using the same method and the same hardware. Your fastest WR isn't in the top 100 anymore. I realize it was a different year and era of cubing, but clock has had few changes. Your WRs were done in a newer, smaller and slower field of competitors, not nearly as impressive as pushing the WRs to the limit

It was pretty exciting to see a WR happen. The clock round was pretty slow, I'm not sure if any others were solving at the time, so it didn't distract anybody. I'm sure everybody felt happy for Nathaniel :)

lol man it was me and 2 other compeditors in that group and one of them walked up to me and it was the last solve so everyone was like done

I would like to point out somethings... in that round of clock 3 people competed at the time i did my last solve no one solved anything official becuse they were all looking at me to see if i was going to get ER or not in avg becuse i needed to be sub 7.31 to get the ER. please don´t speak before you know how it acctuly was.

haha the scramble wasent anything speciell

WRs of the past aren't to be discriminated against. Times were different.

One of my least favorite ever. Or was nobody else solving at the time? (And even then I'd find it over the top)

What is your issue? The reaction was just fine.

Your argument is pathetic. This is like saying you shouldn't react to a skewb record because Jay didn't in his 3.10. Reactions vary from person to person, and this was definitely not unusual for a world record reaction.

Quit being a little *****, you're just trying to pick a fight.

I think it's perfectly acceptable to be excited over getting a good solve.

People having exciting yet still distracting reactions is part of being at a competition. It's part of the uncontrollable environment that also includes the crowd's ability to be distracting as well as cheer for competitors that get good solves. Yes, it is nice and expected to be considerate of the other competitors competing, but I don't think that means it's unacceptable to celebrate after getting a good solve - especially one that's a world record.

Maybe it's just me but I would like to know if someone got a record at the competition that I was in, so jumping up and down and yelling is fine for me. The different reaction of WR's are also fun to watch.

Also congrats on the WR.

I'm really happy for Nathaniel that he got this WR, he really deserves it. :)

I do find reactions like this really distracting during a competition, but to be honest I don't really know what I'd do if I got a WR. I'm a pretty reserved person, but getting a really fast solve pumps me up so it could go either way. And I don't really know what he averages exactly, or really much about clock in general, but if this is a really good solve for him, I completely understand his reaction. It's a little different if he knew he was capable of such times in comp. If I got a 36 megaminx WR, I would probably either run around the room in celebration or just sit there in shock, lol
