Hey Guys,
this is Sam, I'm 26 years old and I've been into cubing for about 8 Months now.
(Finally entering this forum )
It all started with a simple tutorial and then Speedcubing got a grip on my heart! (I think you can relate)
So I learned Friedich, F2L, PLL, been trying to get full OLL over the last weeks, almost done
But I "still" average around 22-24 seconds, hopefully cracking the 20 mark soon... I just love it...
Of course over time more puzzles came to light and as of now there are almost 40 in my possession (I know, cute righ? (Luckily I have a job) My latest ones are the 4x4x6 and the 3x4x5... Love em...

Well besides that I've been playing guitar for about 12 years now and been doing some drums and vocals
over the years too, I'm mostly listening to thrash/death/heavy stuff but my musical interests
go beyond that...Other than that i like books and movies...

Welcome! For sub 20 you should try to get your cross and first 2 layers done in under 12 seconds and your last layer done in under 8 seconds. Your cross should be sub 4. (these splits are just what most people try to achieve but they can be ajusted to 13/7 if you are already fast at last layer) I also reccomend trying to do your cross without looking. (start practicing with 2 pieces until its easy then 3 then 4). This allows you to start looking for your first f2l pair while solving the cross.

Welcome to the forums! I can definitely relate to your story, and good luck with the rest of OLL. Knowing full CFOP is not necessary for sub-20, but in my opinion it really helps. There are a few of us metal heads on here as well I'm probably more of a softie in that regard, I mainly like melodic metalcore, but I do enjoy thrash metal a bit too.

Thats what I'm on right now, the cross. I have been pretty lazy with keeping the move count low for the cross, but I'm definitely getting better.

Well I think most of my stuff is pretty basic like 2x2-7-7 (v-cube 2, aosu, aochuang, aoshi, SS 7 mini), some 3x3s, some 4x4s, ghost cube, crayzy yileng, aosu fisher 4x4, case cube, skewb, mega- and pyraminx.
Recently put the "two solution" stickermod from olivers on one of my mirror cubes, pretty fun.
Well for cuboids i own the 2x2x4, 3x3x4, 3x3x9 an the already mentioned 4x4x6 and 3x4x5. I also got a big package coming soon, but I already forgot whats in there, exept for the 3x3x5 mirror blocks, pretty exited for that

I mainly like melodic metalcore

I've been cubing for a year and one month and I have 14 puzzles, 3 of which are just old 3x3 rubiks brands XD.

And by the way, I imagine many people get annoyed and quit when they reach the 20 second mark. I don't believe that based on the fact you solve 40 puzzles, but don't worry, 20 seconds is a hard barrier to break for most people and you'll likely find after you break it, progression seems faster.

oll is not nessecary for sub 15 I got close to sub 15 with 2 look

I'm around 18ish with 4LLL. Oll is definitely not necessary to be sub-20!
