[Unofficial] (Hays) 1:32.75 6x6 UWR and Cubing Update

Dropping the cube makes this UWR that much more epic. Hopefully before you quit you can get a sub-1:40 officially.

In all honesty, it is great that you are quitting competitively. Cubing, although awesome, is just a hobby. Even cubing too much at home gets in the way of school sometimes, which is dumb. I find myself not touching a cube for a week+ and then trying to find time for cubing but I still have stuff I need to get done for school and I have to force myself to ignore cubing. Quitting is a good idea and I am heavily considering it myself till I am done school. That way I will stop focusing so hard on cubing goals. I am glad that you made the decision to do so. I hope you excel in school and enjoy all your experiences. Seriously though, WR 6x6x6 to an untouchable level before school please.

Holy Moly...
Before you go make sure get a sub-1:30 for the record books so your memory lives on!

I can't even beat the 3 minute mark, and 6x6 is like.. the only thing I do. 1:32.. that's insanity. I'm hoping I am your judge for the upcoming Lawrence competition. I'd love to be in a World Record video. :P

Considering you're registered for 6x6, and there's only 14 people (so far) registered for the event, there's not going to be very many heats. Who's to say that you won't be in the same heat as Kevin? ...Well, me, considering I'm the organizer. :P

Incredible 6x6 solve! I loved your reaction afterward :D

As for retiring, are you planning to retire from competing altogether, or planning to retire from intense training and go down to cubing as a fun hobby?

If you're retiring from cubing entirely, you will be missed. If you're downgrading from intense training to cubing as a fun hobby then I hope you still enjoy doing it and would hope to see you at a competition in the future one day!

Either way, good luck with the other endeavors you're pursuing in life!

Ooh, solving next to him would be even better. :D Only thing that can go wrong- exploding my cube, a piece flies into Kevin's eye when he's about to get a world record therefore making him lose the world record, and I'm hated in the cubing community. Lets just hope that doesn't happen. :)

[EDIT] So you might let me judge for Kevin? That would be SO awesome! Well, if it's fair. :P

Thanks Chris!

I'm more of retiring from cubing as a sport, and turning it into a hobby. I'll probably still try and make it out to the competitions I can in the future, but for fun instead of to compete.

That's great! It's exciting that you have a busy competition schedule shortly before you retire :)

Good luck with your last competitions, it sounds like a blast!
