[Unofficial] 4.21 3x3 single (Feliks Zemdegs)

It's the coordination and clean turning at such speeds that make me hate my self that I still fumble and bumble through my G perms...

i wonder, is feliks truly just the result of insane amounts of practice, or is there something unique about him that allows for such incredible speed solving skills?

just practice haha

So 5.55 on the first solve, and 4.21 on the second. Is this just normal to you, are you just that good at hiding any excitement, or do you not care?

Haha no I'm sure smiled or something after this solve - was really happy to get it on camera.

makes me wonder what the solves after this were..

Nothing special, I don't think the avg5 was sub-6.

Feliks's WR single loss was the only thing in speedcubing that shouldn't happen

disagreed. its always nice to mix up the world record picture. a homogenous record scene is pretty boring. mats' 5.55 is a nice source of competition, and everybody holds their breath when feliks(and some other fasties) competes in anticipation of a new record. and it's not like mat's solve was a fluke from someone who doesn't deserve it(a highly controversial thing for me to say). he is a very talented cuber.

Well said.

You deserve a record if you get a record.

Not always... If I would get just a T-perm as an official scramble I can tell you I surely do NOT deserve WR even tough I'm capable getting a WR with that scramble... :/

Mats is definitely fast but Feliks is definitely even faster... Just look at this

Feliks has around 50 (I don't know the exact number) of the fastest 100 solves ever done in comp... It's quite clear to me that he "deserves" the record. (Also that sub-wr corner twist solve just adds to that point...)
