[Official] Feliks Zemdegs: 5.81 Rubik's cube solve

There was no U2 at the end. He used: R U R' U R' U' R2 U' R' U R' U R.

13 moves in HTM. 0.76s execution... 17.11 tps U Perm? Maaaaaann.

He's referring to the fact that if he had used the normal U perm he would have had to do a U2 afterwards, but with this he did not. I actually use this alg for all angles except for when the normal alg would mean no AUF.

Ooooohh, so referring to the case, not the execution. Got it. Sorry, Rob... my bad.

The only place I use this alg is on megaminx. Now I'm reconsidering.

Feliks has beaten the 5x5 and 3x3OH Average World Records in the space of a few days.
He has solved the cube in a competition 7 times under six seconds. There have only ever been 11 sub-6 competition solves.
This could be the build up to the new 3x3 Single WR.

More like in the space of a few hours... but there's nothing new about that. Feliks breaks WRs all the time.
Maybe so but two in one competition is still very impressive, and it could mean he's practicing harder (if that's even possible xD)

Have you ever looked at his records?

Can someone bother to go through and find the max he's had in one competition? I would guess around 5.

I've just quickly scanned his history of WR's (don't have time to do a full search) and it looks like he has beaten his own WR multiple times in some comps, but for individual events, the number isn't as high.
