Just got a Dayan Zhanchi

Okay so I just got my Dayan Zhanchi for about $20.

I think it's been pre-lubricated because the insides are a bit oily but yeah. It doesn't feel like it's too much faster than my old cube (a pretty smooth one that I got for $6). I recently watched a video which said that Dayan Zhanchi could corner cut at 45 degrees but mine can't. Also, I've heard that you can tension it to make it faster but i don't know how...

Help?

Take of the center caps with your fingernail or a screwdriver. Then loosen/tighten the screws equally on each side. Mess around with different tensions until you find what you like!

Ive honestly never gotten a zhanchi to corner cut 45 degrees no matter how i tension it. If you want corner cutting buy an Aolong v2, it corner cuts beyond 45 out of the box. It also doesnt pop where the zhanchi can pop very easily on looser tensions

My zhanchi used to corner cut >55 degrees. You just gotta lube it and tension it properly.
