Hey everyone! My name is Adam and I'm 27 years old. I started cubing in January of this year after impulsively picking up an old Rubik's cube lying around my house and deciding I wanted to solve it. Fast forward a month later and I bought my first speed cube, a GuHong Plus V2. As of now, I'm hitting around 50 seconds on average using CFOP and I'm only gonna get faster :D I'm still using 2-look OLL and, embarassingly, I still don't have all of my PLL algs memorized. I've also picked up a Shengshou 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 since then and I'm working on those as well (though my times are so bad as to not even be worth mentioning...)

When I'm not cubing, I'm either at work, weight lifting, doing martial arts tricking (a combination of flips, twists, and kicks - been at it for about 10 years!), or messing around on my computer. I enjoy gaming, programming, learning about statistics, and browsing random websites that are entertaining :) Great to meet you all!

Nothing to be embarassed about, sub-30 and even sub-20 can be done with 4LLL. I think you might want to work on F2L moe at 50 secs.

You're probably right. I feel like my cross and F2L steps are definitely my limiting factors right now, in addition to just generally crappy look-ahead. After reading another guy's thread here, I realize I'm just not putting in the work that other people are. Gotta put the pen to the paper, as they say!

I'm slacking off on learning PLLs... (see my forum join date, heh). I only know T, Ua, Ub, H, Z, Y and Jb, which are pretty much all used in 2 look PLL.

Welcome, and hey, don't be disheartened if you may not have gotten as fast as some people have, it's often that people have much different rates of improvement over others, and many times it just comes down to chance, exposure, and in my case - boredom and lack of anything else to do. I literally spent the last two weeks of school holidays cubing almost for 5+ hours a day. I'm pretty sure that if you did that, you would have seen a drastic improvement too!

As for exposure, this community is probably the best exposure to cubing that anyone could get, so don't be afraid to embrace this site, and ask questions and make use of it. (I'm being a bit of a hypocrite here, I've only been on this site for 2 days....)

Anyway, I wish you the best, and have fun!
