Hey guys, my name is Cory (amazed that this username wasn't taken yet :) ) and I live in Australia.
I've only been cubing for about one month and a half now, and I average around 33 seconds with a PB of 25.34 on a 3x3 (really bad, I know). I started off with a Rubiks cube that I could barely turn, let alone do finger tricks on (it was quite stiff and hard to use). I got a new cube 16 days ago, and that alone dropped my average 40 seconds :D (from 1:45 to around 1 minute then).

Yeah sorry if this is boring you, but I wasn't really sure what to write... I'm not very interesting.

Goals for the future:
Probably get to around 17 second average (hopefully?) or less? And then maybe try a 4x4 or OH or something else (though still of course doing 3x3).

Current Method:
CFOP with 2-look OLL and almost full PLL (I know 18 of the 21 algorithms, but I hardly ever see the other three)

What tutorials do I use:
Mainly Badmephisto's and internet searches

Cube/Lube:
Shengshou Aurora / Traxxas 50k

-----

Hobbies:
Apart from cubing, well I enjoy football/soccer, basketball, and sometimes computer programming (in objective-c if anyone cares). I have a few apps on the Mac App-Store, though nothing really useful or worth downloading (only got around 2k downloads, but hey I'm only 14 so it doesn't matter) :). Oh yeah, and I still have school, so... :(

Thanks for reading, sorry for boring you with useless information, and uh happy cubing!

Edit: Also, just a question or two that I want to ask (I think this is fine to put in this thread, isn't it?)

Is it normal for my stickers to be noticeably chipped after only one month (Of quite intensive cubing)? My nails aren't usually too long, if that makes any difference.
Also, is there any reason why my cube might feel different, day to day? Like I use it one night, and in the morning it feels slightly different (can't place what exactly is different though). Do tensions change sometimes? Or is the lube setting in? Magic maybe?

Sorry if this is too much or not meant to be here, or boring, or stupid or something. But thanks! :)

Of course there is. Comps are BLOODY AWESOME. It's not all about the competing -- you get to meet people, talk to people with a similar interest as you, some times people are selling / trading cubes, etc etc. BTW, you know Mats Valk? At his first competition, his average wasn't even sub-1 minute -- http://www.worldcubeassociation.org/results/p.php?i=2007VALK01 It'll give you some practise for when you are competing for speed, and you get bragging rights over some people cus' you have a WCA profile.

Apparently Feliks didn't go to a comp for over a year since starting because there weren't any in Australia. Then he went to an NZ one. Didn't know Mats had been cubing for so long.

30 seconds is very good, awesome for a month and a half. Once you get a little faster, probably worth getting a MoYu 3x3 (but not much point when you've only had an Aurora for two weeks).
