[Help Thread] Clock Discussion

srsly screw todays results

both averages should've been NR:
- first average had stupid DNF on my first solve (back cross all out by one, caught a pin) and timer malfunction just threw me off
- second one had bad DNF (one corner) on a 6.7-6.8...

at least i got a half decent single :D

You should have got the NR by now. This reminds me of Ollie trying to get WR. Nice single though :)

Ben caught my 6.30 :) the video glitches for like the whole first face, but oh well :P

This is the official solve I'm most happy with by a considerable amount, everything just came together nicely :)
2 lucky cases (upper and right edges were matching on both faces), y2 rotation.

NEED FAST HELP- problem with clock

Hello everyone,

I've a problem with my clock, one of my pins can't stay up when I pushed it up.
I've broken in my clock (lubed it) to make it turn better...

I'm going to a comp in 2 days so need fast help!!!

Thanks in advance

If I understand your problem correct I see two possible solutions: (In both cases you need to take your clock apart if you havn't already)
1: Exchange your defect pin with another working one from another clock if you have
2: Try to fix your pin. :)

The problem when a pin dosn't stay up, is usually that the small metal pins on the side of the pin itself (there are two - one on each side of the pin itself) move too smoothly through the holes they are in. Theese metal pins must have a sertain resistance when moving up and down through the holes.

To try to fix this, I have heard that you can bend the metal pins a little bit. Havn't tried that myself.
My own mod for this, is to take out the metal pins, and apply a small amount of ordinary hobby glue to them. Let them dry for a few seconds, and whipe most of the glue off again with some papertowel. Put the pins back into the holes, and see if that did the trick.
It have worked for me on two clocks now, but sometimes I have to do it a few times to get the resistance right. Also sometimes they feel VERY hard to push back into the holes after they have been glued, but often you can just work the pin up and down for a few minutes after, and it will be great.
However, try this at your own risk - it's a bit experimental procedure, and I guess it depends a lot on what kind of glue you use. :) DONT USE SUPER GLUE! ;)

Fastest NR fail yet...
6.96, 7.54, (6.17), (DNF(7.53)), 8.36 = 7.62

7.34 without the DNF... It was one edge so a pretty bad one too :P
First four scrambles were good, last one was pretty bad...
NR is cursed! :P

i only have a lingao, which i modded using kit clements tutorial here >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-9XAokVhBQ< the lingao was pretty nice after that...because my rubiks brand hasnt shipped yet

I've an original rubik's from eBay, pins were very stiff initially, I just took it apart and lubed it, now the wheels are very tight, they hardly move . Pins are fine. Should I mod it somewhere? Have taken it apart and put it back over 20 times :/ would be nice if someone can help.
