[NAR] Rowe Hessler 3x3x3 8.91 single

I wasn't aware that just by looking at the unsolved cube, one can know whether by selecting a particular color, you can have a PLL/OLL skip. It seems incredible. It depends a lot on the F2L algos you use, right? (Having a skip, like even a URU'R' or R'FRF' can make a difference to the last layer).

Don't listen to him, he's wrong...

I think I know what he's doing wrong. He's thinking "if the probability of a skip is X, then the probability of a skip when you can start with any color is 6X"

The problem is, once you start with, say, a red cross, you can't get the skip you would've got with a white cross. Once you link yourself to a color, your probability goes back to X.

right, lets get this straight.

Rowe hessler is a very, very good competitor. he goes to many competitions, and thus, does many official solves. 1.32% of his solves (if that is correct) will be PLL skips. this cannot change based on the colour of his start. it is therefore obvious that it will look like he gets many PLL skips. it is also very possible that he knows algorithms beyond OLL/PLL, and as such, makes use of them. for example if he sees that all the edges are solved, he can do a COLL algorithm, and seem to get a PLL skip. thus, his 'chances' increase (they dont actually, but he forces them).

aaand... Lofty was joking. it is likely he looks no (or not much) further than the first pair.

NOOOOOO??!?!?!
srsly? DAMN! I thought Rowe COULD look ahead all the way to the pll... LOL

No, that would be Lucas Garron.
Ville can do a sub-20 solve without ever doing the PLL. :p

lol it took a little while for me to get that, then I remembered speed blind. nice one.

Also, rowe can probably sub-20 without PLL too, his execution is also crazy fast.
