The 2x2x2 "Example Solve" Game!

Solving using only pure commutators. No setups are allowed, only algorithms of the form A B A' B'.
Also did it without any rotations.

[R U2 R', D']
[B2 L B2 L' B2, R]
[R' U R, D2]
[U B U', F]
[D R' D', L2]

Next: F2 U2 R2 F' U2 F' U R'

I like the idea! (Is it possible that there could be a parity, thus you'll need a single cube rotation in the beginning? I assume it is.)

[U', R2 D' R2 D R2]
[L B' L', F']
[U, R D2 R']
[L2, U R U']

Next: F2 R' F2 U' F' U2 F R2 F2

[R' D R, U]

Something I saw someone (Stefan?) post to do a U move as a commutator on a 3x3:
[remove all pieces from U layer except the centre, U']

(obviously you need to put the pieces back in the same place)

Yeah, that was Stefan in this post, and Renslay used that in the example solve before my last one. I tried to figure out a way to do it without taking any pieces out, and that was the first thing I thought of. The only other idea I had was [scramble cube randomly, U'], as in scrambling the cube, doing a U' move, solving the cube (inverse of scrambling), and doing a U move. The only problem is that solving the cube wouldn't be the same as doing the inverse of the moves you did to scramble it.

oops, I just clicked the last page of the thread, I didn't see that
yours doesn't work if your cube can corner cut though :p
Yeah, that one isn't a commutator. If you tried to do it as a commutator (i.e. undo the scramble), you'd have a random 4-cycle of edges and a 4-cycle of corners, then a U move after that.

Shouldn't it be the inverse of that?
Next: R U' F' U R' F U2 R2 U'
[put one hand behind your back, do one U move for every hand that isn't behind your back] // This does a U' because you put one hand behind your back, do U, bring that hand in front of you again, and then do U' twice

[U B U', F']
[L D2 L', U']

no, it results a U move:
[U, erase cube] = U, erase cube, U' (on nothing), bring back cube = U

Next: R U2 R' U F2 R' U' F U

[make any D moves undefined, D'] // = a single D move (since the first D' move is undefined)
[B', L' F' L]
[R' F R2 U' R' U, B']

L B U' F R2 /Face
x' y' /AdjustEG
R U R' U R U L' U R' U' L /CLL
D /AUF

Final solve: L B U' F R2 U B U' B U B D' B U' B' D F (17 HTM)

I think the method I use is "FACE", "Face, Adjust, CLL or EG"...

Final solve: F2 U F' R' U' R U' R' U2 R U2 (11 HTM)
Pretty easy (and boring, only face, sune, and U2) solve...

Optimal is U2 F R2 U' R' F R' U...
and...

My solve is there! I feel important xD
