Something I saw someone (Stefan?) post to do a U move as a commutator on a 3x3:[turn R face 45 degrees clockwise, push U layer in counterclockwise direction with the amount of force required to turn it 90 degrees] // my way of doing a U move as a commuator without taking apart the cube, example video here
Yeah, that was Stefan in this post, and Renslay used that in the example solve before my last one. I tried to figure out a way to do it without taking any pieces out, and that was the first thing I thought of. The only other idea I had was [scramble cube randomly, U'], as in scrambling the cube, doing a U' move, solving the cube (inverse of scrambling), and doing a U move. The only problem is that solving the cube wouldn't be the same as doing the inverse of the moves you did to scramble it.Something I saw someone (Stefan?) post to do a U move as a commutator on a 3x3:
[remove all pieces from U layer except the centre, U']
(obviously you need to put the pieces back in the same place)

Shouldn't it be the inverse of that?[U, erase cube from existence with magic]
