Wtf where is the video?

Those threads are made as placeholders for the videos which are to come, as that will avoid two threads about the same topic being created.

I think in this situation it is best if the thread is first posted in the general cubing discussion section, and later moved to the video gallery.

To be honest, I can think of no valid reason to open a new thread as a placeholder for videos to come. The only reason I can think if is that someone wants to be seen as the first person who posted a video of a WR on the forum, which I think is just pathetic. If you have the video and are ready to post it, then by all means create a thread and post it. If not, then don't.

When you're not the person that has the video and you create a post in the video gallery, I think its just for the useless post count increase. The sensible thing to do is just wait for the actual person to post the video or if you can't wait, just discuss the result elsewhere.
Also, people tend to forget any record is only a record when it's oficiallized by the WCA and *not* by the cubecomps or live.cubing.net websites. These wonderful sites exist to help run a competition but they are not official, if they were it would be at something like live.worldcubeassociation.org.
