Okay, so I average (on 3x3) around 23 seconds. I use a ZhanChi or a LingYun v2, depending on which one I pull out of my backpack. I thought of this idea the other day, and I want to know if you guys think it's good.
So, I have 4 different 3x3s: F2, GuHong, ZhanChi (Lubed with lubix by me), and a LingYun v2. So, we all know that the order of these cubes, from best to worst, goes like this: ZhanChi/LingYun, GuHong, F2, right? So, now for the idea itself. I was thinking that because people got great times with the F2 and GuHong before the ZhanChi came out, that they are perfectly fine cubes, and capable of a lot of stuff. So, I was thinking that I would start using my F2 (the worst of my 4) until I average 19-21. After that, I would switch over to my GuHong until I average 17-19. Then I switch over to my LingYun v2 (I think the ZhanChi is a tiny bit better) until I average 15-17. Then I can use my ZhanChi full time.
I thought this would be a good idea, because, obviously, better cubes bring better times, but I'm not really using the cube to its full potential if I use it too soon. I believe that this will allow me to get better faster, after I get up to normal speed with my F2.
Do you guys think this is a good idea, or should I just jump to the best cube that exists and improve with that?
