My Cubesmith order came today after a week of wait, but you're wondering why I made this thread..

[All of the following were for my birthday]

Okay, here's what I got from Cubesmith. 14.60$ for this which sounds like a lot, I know, but it was because of the tiles..

2 sets of Smooth Tiles
1 set of Bright Replacement Stickers
1 "Bright Blue"

Now my Cube4You order..

White Type F [Disassembled, yay!]
Black Old Type A I
Old Type A Core
Screws+Washers+Springs Pack

I'll talk about the order later, but here's the question... How should I use the stickers?

Since the Type F and Type A come with stickers already, I figured I should go ahead and use those until they start falling off and being just plain out nasty. Then, since I don't like fluorescent colors on a white cube, I'm going to use Smooth Tiles on the Type F, and then I want one of my speedcubes to have stickers, so I'm going to put Fluorescent stickers on my Old Type A...

Is this smart usage of the stickers, or should I just go ahead and use the Cubesmith stuff? Also, is the problem with the Type F, the core, cubies, screws, or the whole thing??

I WAS going to use it as my main speedcube, but I was wondering what makes it so bad. I understand it's the deterioration, but I was wondering WHAT is deteriorating? I figured I would keep it dry and put no lube on it..

tl;dr

1. Type F
1a. What parts of the Type F deteriorates?
1b. Can you fix this problem?
1c. How bad are the edge and corner caps?
1d. What is this cube's best tension, and what's your preferred tension? (I want your opinions, not pentrixter's)

2. Old Type A I
1a. I heard that if you put lube in these, they get slower. Is this true?
1b. Do these have edge and corner caps [on the inside], or do they come with the caps on?
1c. What is this cube's best tension, and what's your preferred tension? (I want your opinions, not pentrixter's)?

Not exactly sure how the type f detoriates coz I dont use mine much. I think you can just clean out the insides every month or so, that might help.
For me, the caps pop quite a lot, mostly the corner and center caps.
And my favorite tension on the type f is Average - loose.

I dont think if you put lube in the old type A it'll go worse, i think it'll go better.
And me favorite tension on the old type A is Average - tight.

My type F has never deteriorated, and the only issue I had was with the center caps (due to my own error of leaving silicone in it for too long, and they became glued down). Other than that, I enjoy my type F because it's light, quiet, and smooth. My tension is set to where you cannot really pull cubies out easily without a decent amount of force, and the space between the core and the center piece is about 1.5mm or so.

1.Type F
My Type F Never deteriorated I Think Because I Clean It Once A Week!.
, Caps I Glued All Except Centers
, About Tension, I Tighted And Loose It For 2-3 Laps Of Screws It's Very Very Very Speedy, Low Pop Rate, Cuts Corner Are Very Good, Smoothly

2.Old Type A I

Lube It And It Slower? True , But You Need To Lube It And Clean It And Your Type A Will Good!
, Caps, It Has Only Corner Caps
, About Tension, I Tighted And Loose It For 3 Laps Of Screws. It's Not Bad For Speed, 3/5 Pop Rate, Cuts Corner Are Good, Smooth

EDIT: I read the thread that says about the plastic dust and stuff, so I'm assuming it's safe to use the Type F core. I'll just clean it like most people suggest, so that's cool.. Is it okay to lube the Type F, or is it just as good "dry"? Also, is it REALLY okay to lube the Old Type A?

@Truncator - Oh, that's cool. -notices location- Hey, you're a Texan as well! (Well, I'm originally from California but..)

Woo, my cubes should be in by tomorrow since it arrived in Louisiana around 7:30 PM Central Time Zone and that's about a 3 hour drive from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but there's probably a UPS facility somewhere around there, which has the arrival/departure thing which takes about two hours, so it's safe to say it'll be in by tomorrow.

The full set of stickers you now have got should be saved.

I have enough 3x3 sticker sets for 3 full un-stickered 3x3 cubes.

I've used 2 complete sets to resticker a 3x3 Void cube to give it a conventional Rubik storebrought color scheme and make it much more fun to use and to replace 5 of the 6 faces stickers on my Dian Sheng 3x3 cube which were about to peel away and to improve the color contrast differences on the cube too.

Higher color contrast difference = Easier to spot the different colors and less lag time in performing algs. Important for me as I'm not good at fast and accurate complex pattern regonisition as evidenced in a 2/10 score in a Raven's Spatial Regonisition Test.

With my newly stickered Dian Sheng cuhe, I achived my very first sub 60 second non lucky solve on a 3x3 cube.

And I have a complete sticker sets for a 3x3 arrow cube and a 3x3 color bind cube too.
