Which is faster: Guimond or Ortega?

i dont feel like learning all really complex methods like the EG, SS, stuff like that

learned the ortega yesterday and its pretty good, but is guimond faster?

what are you averaging with Ortega right now? Ortega is definitely faster for a beginner, but if you learn to predict separation then Guimond is definitely faster. I would say stick with Ortega for now, since you can get sub-5 *fairly* easily with it.

Could anyone fairly say one is faster than the other? Of course knowing both allows you to use whichever method you feel is more efficient for a given situation.

I can say, it depends on the scramble wich is fastest. For some scrambles Guimond wins and for some Ortega...

But in most cases CLL beats them both
