I'm practising F2L the hard way, and I wondered if I should learn any algs for it? Currently I just do it intuative.

EDIT: Sorry for posting this in the wrong forum.. Realized it too late.

Badmephisto sais that you should learn some algs to make it go faster. Are there some that pop up very commonly that can be made faster?

Anyway, I guess I should practise intuitive before moving on.

Thanks for a speedy reply :)

You should be solve for a while and any algs you feel you are solving in too large a move count then look up the algorithm and see if it is faster, if so implement that one.

Makes it easier as with intuitively you have learned it yourself and hence easier to solve from any angles and with any new algs you learn you can then learn the algorithm from each angle pretty easily.

I agree with GerrySly. One that you should learn right off the bat though is one that has the cross color on top of the corner, with the edge piece in the slot, flipped. Put the corner over the edge, then: R U R' U' x3.

Try to make as many of them as intuitive as possible. This may require you repeating the alg over and over again until the whole sequence makes sense to you. Then for the ones that are REALLY hard to process fast get some algs. Most of my f2l is done intuitively but there are like 3 or 4 cases where I use algs.
