Hey there,

im a cuber from germany and i want to become a speedcuber. (my actual avg is 54with the beginners method...i know im its not that good but i just started cubing like 1month ago-atm im learning F2L intuitively and 2L-OLL/-PLL)

anyway im looking fore some advice. idk what cube to buy and where.

at the moment ive got the Speed Cube Ultimate from Cubikon and im kinda comfortable with it...it moves really smooth but not as fast as i want it to.

i want to buy 3 3x3x3 cubes (for me and my friends) and 1 4x4x4 cube (for me) but there are sooo much different cubes out there and i just dont know which one i should get and where to buy it.

it would be really nice if you could help me =)

thanks
lenny

Have you tried lubing your cube to make it smoother?
As far as which cube to get, a lot of it comes down to personal preference. Types A (old), C, D, E, Cube4You, and Edison cube all seem to be quite well-liked. You should probably try a bunch of different ones to see what you like, but your current cube probably isn't holding you back too much at this point.

hey thanks for your fast response

im not quite sure yet if i should get an DIY type A or C but i guess you cant really give me a good advice which one is the best for me

hmm well maybe i'll just buy 2 of both types and than after putting them together and testing them i'll choose may fav cube and give the other ones to my friends (woah im mean)

thx4your advice concerning the 4x4x4 i'll probably buy this one (http://www.cube4you.com/442_Mefferts-Original-Master-Cube-Black-with-tiles.html)

and another small question: what do you think about this cube (http://www.cube4you.com/370_Diansheng-White-3x3x3-Cube-(e).html) ? it says that it can be used under water so it would be a good cube for the pool in summer...is it worth the monay?

thx so much
lenny

/and sorry for my mistakes im not the best in speaking english

you can pretty much use alot of cubes for underwater and that ones good since the stickers are painted on, otherwise you buy tiles from cubesmith

Buying 2 of each is a good idea. If you want to give two of them to your friends, then keep two of them, and buy tiles for one so it will be better to use underwater.

i recommend you get the diansheng cubes and get sumwhat of alot of them there really great cubes for a great price.but you should get the diansheng cubes and a type a diy or a cube4you cube.so far my best 3x3 i have is my old type d with old type a core(might change to cube4you cube havnt go them yet).and for 4x4 i use eastsheen(might be getting mefferts soon)

for example if i buy this cube (http://cube4you.com/287_White-DIYKit-3x3x3-cube-(c).html) does "kit" mean that i get everything i need like stickers and so on or do i need to order both things seperately(stickers and cube)?

does it have to be an unlubed cube for underwatersolving?

concerning the shipping method:
i can choose between EMS World Express Mail Service for 20USD(always the same) and Air 8-15USD(depends on how much i order). sometimes when im at the airport i see the stuff throwing the baggage around like if their life would depend on it.

which way is better for the cube or doesnt it make a difference? do you have some experience in this request?

can i keep those diansheng cubes for a long time? because its really really cheap and somewhere in my head i just cant belive it ... if you know what i mean ;)

do you mix different kindes of cubes? i mean you just said that youve got an old type D with an A core in it?

I dont not have a diansheng but they are known as a very good cube and extremely worth the amount

DIY kits should contain everything, but if you are missing parts, it's C4Y's fault. I don't do underwater solving, but I think you should lube your cube. EMS is much faster than C4Y's AIR shipping. I have a Diansheng, and they are great cubes despite being one of the cheapest cubes.

yep the diansheng cube is good not bad quality think of it as this less money better quality xD(trying to use the prase you get what you spend[i tihnk thats it correct me if im wrong]) also i always use ems shipping becuase im a little impatient but if you order enough from cube4you sometimes ems shipping will be less then air shipping.i just ordered something form cube4you and it shipped yesterday and the ems shipping was lower than air xD

thank you guys so much you really helped me =)

and sorry for all my questions but im still really green in cubing and all this stuff ;)

no the diy kits dont come with lube. if you want to know what lube to get i have 4 recommendations. Crc heavy duty silicone, Jig-A-Loo(will melt cube if use too much), Puzzleproz cubelube or just cubelube same thing, and shock oil.
