Which axis do you use for big cube edge pairing?

iirc he'd switch between E and S and always insert edges with R U' R', F R' F' R, x R' F R, and x U' R U R'. It's pretty cool actually.

I learned on M slice, which I still use for 5x5 and up... but switching to E slice for 4x4/Yau/323.

I just suddenly realised that sandwich users can post here too
For the first 8 edges, it depends on the order of the big cube: more E-ish for smaller ones, more M-ish for larger ones. Then E for last 4 edges, and finally M for last 4 centers.
