Super Mega Edit: I'm going to refrain from getting Wendy's Frosties for the next week or five and buy a V6. Thanks for all the help, everyone that helped.

the pillowed one is a great cube
out of the box it is almost as good as the v-6 fully modded
once it is broken in and lubed, its a beast trust me

Can the pillowed 6x6x6 be called a knockoff?

I'm thinking it partially is stealing if it had the same mechanism as the V6. But with some differences in it, would it be legal? Does patents and stuff include what is inside, and not just the outer appearance? Is there anyone that can confirm this?

It's crime to buy knockoffs.
1)Your giving money to the company copying and modifying the real cubes.
2)Your benefiting the real company. Mr. Mefferts/Mr. Fisher are working very hard to stop this BS.
3)It's BS to buy it.
But if it's a matter of life or death, buy the BSing MFing Knock-Off.

currently the geniune V-Cube is the worst one since all the knockoffs are pre-modded. all you need to do is glue the pins on and (optional) switch the core (you still have to do this on a real v-cube, but it's harder to mod because the rivets are a hassle to remove)

So i could say that all DIY 3x3s are knockoffs and no one should buy them?

I think I can answer this. The patent covers all cubes 2x2-6x6 and all pillowed cubes 6x6-11x11, so it is a knock-off because it infringes the patent.

Well, this is the only pillowed 6x6 on the market. If people want a pillowed 6x6, and this is the only one available, and it is relatively cheap, then what are they supposed to do.

Wait for x number of years until verdes brings it out?
Seriously, if he wants us to buy products, he should set confirmed release dates, rather than everyone guessing when they may come out.

Or just buy the cube?

Regardless of what the mechanism is? Even if it can be completely different like the Rubik's 4x4x4 is to the Eastsheen 4x4x4? (I'm thinking that it's still legal.)

Btw, I came across a video of izovire reviewing the 6x6x6 made in china, and the pillowed 6x6x6. Of course, he still recommends the V-cubes.

Your logic is undeniable.
