Its been about a week since I started trying this, I watched the videos posted on http://www.blueknightcubing.com/ and I find that it was a good site, I learnt f2l from there, and then against his suggestion, tried learning the 2 look oll and 2 look pll too quick and I still remember them but sometimes, my brain just freezes when I think about it. But I found that the algorithms given in the videos are sometimes different to the ones on the site and almost every single site I look, there seems to be different algorithms for each move. I was wondering what people here thought is the best algorithms for OLL and PLL since I still forget them now, I might as well learn a quicker one if his ones are not as good as some others, he says in his videos that he isn't a great cuber. Any suggestions?

Should I learn full OLL from the start or do 2 look first (for PLL too)?

Also, I didn't want to make another thread about this, its a small question, I've been able to cube for about a month now and I was wondering how fast I should be at by now? I can average at about 55 seconds right now but the only cubers I know do sub 30s and its pretty intimidating watching them do it so quick. hehe

2 look for both without a doubt. Get comfortable with them then move onto full PLL. Then learn the OLLs off of badmephisto's website; he lists them in the order you should learn them.

55 seconds is pretty good, especially with the beginner method from the booklet the storeboughts come with (if that's what you used).

You'll drop to 40 pretty quickly.

Good luck.

Cool. I wasn't really using a proper method, my friend taught me and his method was a mixture of like 3 methods on the internet, then I moved to f2l and continuing with my slow LL and I thought if I'm going to get serious, I'd need to learn a 4 look LL at least.

I used ^ for OLL, and Lance's website for PLL's (most of them anyway...)
I'm not even sure, though, if you need 4LLL right now. For me, F2L plus slow last layer would yield around 35-40 seconds. You could probably improve on F2L as well.

My 2 cents: Practice F2L and learn 4LLL on the side (no need to rush it when you have F2L to work with)
