Hey people!
So I have been cubing off and on for a few years and just recently discovered this forum and new methods. For the first few years I was solving the cube in about 1:30-2:00 minutes. I then discovered F2L and got my time down to about 1:15-1:30. Recently, in the past few months I discovered the full Fridrich method for solving the cube. I now use CFOP minus the OLL. I cna only do a few OLLs and use the 2-look method. My times are now down to about 50 seconds on average and I have a best time of 24 seconds.
It takes me almost 4-5 seconds for the cross, then about 15-20 seconds for F2L, but I am getting better. So far I am only using intuitive F2L, but I plan to learn some of the algorithms for it. As I said I use 2 look OLL, but I am trying to learn OLL. Which OLLs should I learn first? And which ones together? Because I know some are mirror images of each other and all.
I know all PLLs that are known currently to my knowledge and just need to work on quicker recognition and better/faster finger tricks for this stage.
I have all of the DaYan line of 3x3 cubes with the exception of the Taiyan, Lunhui, and Panshi. I ordered a Panshi and won a prototype in a contest from www.icubemart.com
The cubes I currently have are:
2x2x2-average about 40 seconds (I suck at 2x2 currently)
Broken Eastsheen one (lost a few pieces and Im not the one that broke it), I ordered a Shengshou as well as a WitTwo
3x3x3-average around 50 seconds (trying to learn more and get better)
white sudocube, 2 dollar store cubes (bought them for the tiles), one Rubik's brand 3x3, Dayan Guhong in green, Guhong v2 in black, Lingyun in blue, Lingyun v2 in white, Zhanchi in black, colored zhanchi, 55mm zhanchi in white, Fangcun in white, mini Rubik's brand keychain cube. I also ordered (as I mentioned) a Panshi, and I have a Shengshou one coming too. In addition I made an order for a Camcuber Zhanchi.
4x4x4-average around 3-4 minutes if I am lucky (I am terrible with this puzzle because my eastsheen is fragile and hard to cut corners and it just sucks)
Currently I have only the Eastsheen 4x4 cube however I have placed an order for the Shegshou v4
5x5x5- I average around 10 minutes for the 5x5 cubes ( I just dont practice enough and suck at them)
Eastsheen, ordered a Shengshou 5 also
I currently have no cuboid puzzles bigger than these and no other puzzles that are WCA type ones.I have Gordian's knot and various other puzzles, including cast iron puzzles and enjoy any form of brain teasing challenge.
Currently, I have ordered my cubes and cube-like products from: www.speedcubeshop.com, www.icubemart.com, www.ebay.com, and www.amazon.com
I am not new to cubing but am new to the Fridrich method, some of these other puzzles, and modding cubes. Any advice senior members or senior cubers may give me is appreciated and accepted.
Okay that is me, bye!
