what to do with my pvc megaminx (mods)

my new pvc megaminx is pretty poor... but i have seen a few videos and this is my idea of what to do to it:

1) complete disassemble
2) replace screws/springs/washers with type a
3) loosen screws a bit to allow more movement (about 1mm)
4) sand some corners
5) as i rebuild use a flat file to sand pieces smooth
6) disassemble and lube
7) cubesmith stickering!

have i forgotten anything?

One way that my cheap PVC minx falls behind a tiled minx like my mf8 is that the raised tiles of the mf8 give excellent grip.

I've long wanted to do a mod where one would use clear domed sticky cushions -- y'know, the ones used to quieten the doors of kitchen cabinets and drawers. Just a thought.

Sticky cushion things would actually be pretty nice, I bet you could pick up some from a hardware store and then cut and spray paint them, except that would be a pain in the back.

You can spray paint before you cut but the sides won't have the color though.

i did this last night, feels much nicer, but still hard to turn. Do you suggest sanding or lube or both?

i will change stickers, then lube (the lube may stop the stickers applying as well if i mess up!)

I restickered it, and after the mod (did both at the same time) dropped my times by 3 min... I'll have to do another average just to stay consistent...
I have the same megaminx, you can watch LancetheBlueKnight's video on how to mod it, it took me about a day.
Although I could mod and resticker it for you... for a price

Hello, a quick question: I have a new PVC Minx (read this: Edison PVC Minx ) from C4Y. The minx come with all fat screws like Yuga/Edison but dont have Edison Logo in center caps. My question: ¿Should i change the screw/springs (fat) for an A type set with washers? or should i keep the original screws/springs?
