What should I be getting for the cross

I just did an avg of 50 for the cross and I got...

Avg of 50: 2.73

Should I work more on cross? My avgs for 3x3 are 23 sec.

I've done an avg20 for cross and got 2.47 (I was high and it was really late lol) so I'd say your cross seems to be the least of your worries. I bet your your cross+f2l takes about... what 14, 15 seconds? I got a 12.42 avg20 for cross + f2l and average around 17-18 on a normal day. 16-17 on a great day and 18-20 on a slow day.

You probably need more work on f2l and LL.

And also working on your transition between cross and F2L to make it as smooth as possible. That's a major problem that's blocking my progression.

That average should get you sub 20 easily, just practice transition as rickcube said.

my cross is terribad (3s ish on average) and I average ~15-16 ish so no, not really.

I've always suspected I was worse at the cross than I should be, and I guess this confirms it. I did an average of 25:
4.33, 1.67, 2.28, 3.02, 3.03, 2.19, 5.25, 3.62, 7.71, 2.59, 7.67, 3.41, 2.73, 2.16, 2.38, 3.22, 4.21, 4.63, 4.34, 2.63, 1.78, 3.31, 2.59, 1.44, 3.75 = 3.34

Not bad enough to be overly concerned with it, but clearly I'm not as good at it as I should be.

Practicing cross+first pair is probably better than only doing the cross.

i just did an average of 25 and got 2.19. I feel like this is pretty bad for something generally averaging 14-15. Of course, it is in reality a bit better than that, because I did 3 x-crosses because I didn't want to change anything up and I did preserve pairs sometimes. I even looked ahead to the F2L while I was finishing a couple times and had to stop myself and stop the timer.

@ OP- Your cross is actually pretty good for your times.

I woulds say you should do the cross as fast as possible while still knowing where you're first F2L pair is when you get done, this means turning slower than you normally would.
