I am a lefty cuber so I solve the square-1 using left slices and use algorithms that use left slices. I always thought the notation was \ but apparently \ also refers to the right slice. What is the correct notation for the left slice?

It’s the same thing. You just need to hold the cube the other way and mirror the algs. You need to do /6,6/ then swap the two long bar caps on the sides if you want the same color scheme after mirroring how to hold the puzzle.

\ is the Standard notation for a left Slice move, but the last time I've seen someone actually use left and right slice moves during one alg was when the Calvin's was still the number 1 Sq1(which you probably remember judging by your account age), so there won't be too many modern algs utilizing the left slice.

As a fellow lefty, I use the right Slice(or used to, permanent damage makes it nearly impossible for me to complete a Sq1 Ao5)

If you're just using it for yourself in like alg cheat sheets and stuff like that, why not just go with "L" and "R" and let the numbers still do their thing for the top and bottom like they normally do? I have a pure 3-cycle for the Square-2 and the SQ-2x2x4 that I've written some alg's just using L, R, and the regular Square-1 numbers for on my cheat sheets and they make perfect sense for me.
