Hello! I have heard that the silicon spray melts the plastic in a cube. IS this true? If it is, what do you recommend over that? Another question I have is this: right now I am working on the fridrich method and I have the F2L down,( even though I am very slow at it) and I have the first five or so algorithms of PLL down. (I'm saving OLL for last.) Should I get a speedcube now(right now I have a rubiks brand cube) or should I memrize the fridrich system first? and when I do get a speedcube, should it be a DIY or not? What exactly is the difference between a DIY and a normal speedcube besides the fact that you assemble a diy? Is the difference that you can adjust the tension on a diy and not on a normal speedcube? thnks

I can answer some of these questions. With most speedcubes, DIY or not, the tensions are adjustable. It also depends on where you're buying a cube from, but unless you're buying it from Lubix or another place that mods the cubes the DIY version and assembled version should be the same.
Also, I believe this should be in the Speedcubing Help/Questions forum, not this one/.

Melts it a little bit but you should not worry.

Shock oil or Lubix.

Get a speedcube now and make it a Linyun V2.

You should also learn the algs at the same time and make sure they are good and fingertrickable.

Doesn't matter if you get DIY because a DIY is a cube that you assemble and sticker.

BTW you don't have to learn OLL and PLL. You could learn CLL and ELL instead.

First of all, for lube please use the search function
and btw silicon spray DOES NOT melt the plastic only wd 40 and vaseline do that
when to get a speedcube is really anytime
and if u just started id recommend not getting a diy cuz as far as i know people get diys cuz they wanna mod something
but correct me if im wrong as im a NOOB

Silicone spray does melt your cube temproarlily, it will go back to normal within a minute.
Lubix is a great lube that is very expensive compared to the cheap alternative of Shock Oil or Differential.
As for DIYcubes, you must know how to assemble them properly with even tensions and correct format. If you do it right, it should work the same. Also, some or most online stores have factory lube in the assembled ones.
I think you should just get a new speedcube. A rubiks brand can make you develop bad habits and you will need a speedcube sooner or later, doesn't really matter about your Fridrich Skill.
