What happened to progression threads?

[Milominx]

A couple of years ago, I remember everyone did progression threads on here. It was really inspiring seeing people progress, and I found having my own was both fun and helped me keep myself accountable. Since I returned here recently, I've seen basically none of them. My question is: why are progression threads so much rarer now?

I assume there isn't really a concrete answer, but regardless it makes for some interesting discussion.

Some old boomer guy cried and made a big manifesto looking thread about not liking progression threads and then pjk decided to remove progression threads from the front page, and refused to add them back, even when most people want them back.

Ah okey, that's a shame

It was the single best decision for this website in my memory. Even when I maintained my own progression thread I was an advocate for not having them on the main page. If you really care enough track members of interest's progression than they are easily findable after 30 seconds of fiddling with the site. The progression thread clutter is what made me leave the forums and with the back seating of them I'm finally able to find fresh content from people sharing knowledge, announcing records, and taking part in discussions of interest.

I agree with this view
