What can I do to get better?

I've started learning F2L a while back learned a few but not alot and while I was learning those I decided to learn a few OLL only the one that had the cross solved then I have all those with the cross and I was getting average 40-50 with a rubiks cube. I bought a zanchi stickerless and it got here yesterday, I've tensioned it liked the way it is and it got my time down to average 40 not alot but something I noticed I take 20 seconds to finish solving F2L is there anyway to get quicker at F2L. I've tried watching loads of videos but none helped (even badmephisto).

I take 20-29 seconds to solve F2L and cross. I use fridrich method.

Practice, but also structure it in such a way that you systematically improve. You can use the thread called "How to practice" for help. If you want videos to help you out, look at Thrawst, Cyoubx, and Badmephisto. They have some great videos to help you out!

Good advice here already. Unfortunately watching videos alone is not going to make it better. Practice is definitely the key to improving F2L. No shortcuts around that. Just putting in my two cents.

first of all, practice. also what I occasionally do is spam R U R'U' to get the cubies the way I want them to go. takes me like 15-20 seconds to get the cross and f2l

Practice, but don't just do loads of timed solves. Your practice should be targeted - check out this thread on how to practice, or try just slowing right down until you can solve the F2L without pauses.

I would highly encourage anyone not to just "spam" moves because you don't have a case you like. Just learn your F2L cases. There's always a fast and efficient way to do them.
