What’s your best solve on beginners method?

The problem with this metric is a newbie using beginner's method would solve the cross, then each of the bottom corners one by one. An expert using beginner's method would block build the entire first layer in just a few moves and call it an XXXXcross. Not really the same method.

OR
you can do some tricks to do first layer fast and do other f2l tricks to solve edges
