That's crazy. Why would somebody do that? The cubing community is supposed to be such a good group of people.

I read it but am unsure how it went from a man not beng allowed to compete in 4x4 to a delegate attempting to punch and kick him

Welp... a getting late to the competition problem just led to a fist fight.

Delegate didn't call competitor(I'm assuming they were friends), competitor usually gets a phone call when the event starts, so he was late, delegate doesn't allow him to compete(rightfully so, as he has given him many warnings before about it and it follows the regulations), competitor gets mad that he can't compete and he and the delegate start arguing. At some point, swearing breaks out, then someone punches the other guy. Competitor finally gets ready to leave, and is chased out of the building by the delegate, who is still trying to punch him and also kicked him. The competitor said(unconfirmed) as he was trying to leave he told the delegate to chill. Competitor got a 3 month ban from the WCA(but this report is about the delegate, not the competitor), and the delegate was demoted and has a 5 year ban, with evaluations at the 2, 3, and 4 year marks with a possibility of a reduction in sentence.

That doesn't mean anything right now because no one can go to comps anyway.

Wow. This in't the point of the post but that report was official and well put together. Sad situation indeed though but when things happen like this you can't just not handle them.
