this thread is to share wca birthdays of notable cubers, or even yourself!

what is a wca birthday? it's the day of someone's first competition

I am writing this post on 8/23, and it is a very significant anniversary in cubing.

8/23 was the World Rubik's Games Championship 2003. because of this, many notable cubers have their wca birthday today:
  • Dan Knights (world record for 3x3 and winner of worlds 2003)
  • Chris Hardwick (world record for 4x4, 3x3 OH, 4bld, and 5bld)
  • Bob Burton (world record for magic and master magic)
  • Ron van Bruchem (cofounder of WCA, co-inventor of ZB method, and world record for 2x2, 3x3, and 5x5)
  • Lars Vandenbergh (inventor of most-used sq1 method, and world record for 4x4, 5x5, and sq1)
  • Zbigniew Zborowski (co-inventor of ZB method, and world record for FMC)
  • Shotaro Makisumi (world record for 2x2, 3x3, 3x3 OH, and 3bld)
let me know if I missed anyone notable from that competition, and let me know their achievements.

coincidentally, there is another famous birthday today, but he was not at Worlds 2003. it is Dylan Wang, also known as JPerm!

you can see today's birthdays on cubingapp

Cool site, but I cant figure out how it is ordered. It is not grouped in age, first name, last name or competition name. Does anyone see the system? I cannot be randomly sorted, right?
it's sorted by rank. it's not a perfect system, but pretty good because faster cubers tend to be most well known
