This is a really random idea I got today when I was using CCT as a timer for anything I felt like. It's sort of fun to take a break from normal solving and it might be a decent warm-up if you're just going to be doing random cubing. Pick a couple of puzzles or events, and then take an average of 12, but do a few of each and lump them all together. For example:

The 2345 Relay: 3 of 2x2x2, 3 of 3x3x3, 3 of 4x4x4, 3 of 5x5x5
Caltech Style: 4 of 3x3x3, 4 of 3x3x3 OH, 4 of 3x3x3 BLD
Side Events: 3 Square-1, 3 Pyraminx, 3 Megaminx, 3 Clock
2 Fast: 2 Magic, 2 Master Magic, 2 Snake, 2 2x2x2, 2 Pyraminx, 2 T-perm :D

I'm not that warmed up right now, but I tried a 2345 Relay one and got 48.83:
(5.03) 8.22 5.87 14.05 20.03 16.73 1:11.68 59.39 1:11.49 1:48.66 1:52.22 (2:06.66)

Give it a try, it's more fun than you'd think :)

No, he is saying, you solve (for the 2345), a 2x2 3 times, then a 3x3 3 times etc. And average all the results.

For his example:
2x2: (5.03) 8.22 5.87
3x3: 14.05 20.03 16.73
4x4:1:11.68 59.39 1:11.49
5x5: 1:48.66 1:52.22 (2:06.66)
He then put these into Jnet/CCT and found the average!

Lol, you could get some crazy averages out of that :p . Especially if you have to do something that you're slow as! I should do the Caltech Style one, it could really help my BLD times!

2345 = 49.35
(8.30), 10.94, 9.94, 18.44, 14.59, 12.46, 1:11.15, 1:10.53, 1:02.19, 1:51.22, (1:53.00), 1:52.03

stupid 2x2...

Caltech = 43.08
(15.11), 19.97, 17.56, 18.38, 35.19, 23.65, 28.80, 28.19, (1:43.28), 1:20.09, 1:26.44, 1:32.52

second BLD was really easy. An L2 in the beginning solved like 4 pieces.

Side Events = 45.07
47.09, 51.15, 34.25, 12.65, 13.43, (7.55), 2:09.38, (2:15.19), 2:02.34, 12.86, 13.02, 14.50

I realize this is super old, but I just did an awesome 234 Relay Average (actually 432):

Average: 22.48
Times: 59.52, (1:02.15), 55.58, 47.05, 13.13, 14.05, 13.72, 12.81, 03.91, (01.96), 02.13, 02.93

Anyone else wanna give a shot? I know Erik and Yu and Syuhei and others would probably all destroy this, but I thought it was pretty good :)

I just revisited the 2345 avg.
12:56:21 <+micro501> DanCohen's 12 Individual Times: (4.44), 6.43, 6.15, 14.96, 11.91, 13.68, 56.09, 1:01.90, 49.77, (1:36.88), 1:27.31, 1:29.44
12:56:21 <+micro501> DanCohen's Average: 39.76, Best Time: 4.44 Worst Time: 1:36.88

234:

13:08:22 <+micro501> DanCohen's 12 Individual Times: (3.75), 5.06, 4.46, 4.68, 13.15, 14.93, 13.13, 13.52, (DNF), 59.05, 51.16, 59.34
13:08:22 <+micro501> DanCohen's Average: 23.84, Best Time: 3.75 Worst Time: DNF

bad 4x4 solves :(

Is this thread from april or september? (I assume april?) I can't tell whether the dates are crazy American backwards way, or normal. Either way, Dan has really improved a lot in 5x5 this year. This bump still gives me hope :) .
