1.I'm having problems with every fingertrick that contains U move.I do U' move much faster and more precise.I don't have any problems with quick turning other faces, but U is giving me a real headache.Anyone else experienced same problems?Any solution?

2.As i don't know the cube types and differences between them,i will ask my question here. Here in Croatia we have only one ORIGINAL rubik's cube distributor, and they have only 2 types of cubes.Normal cube and HEXAGONAL version of the same. What is the difference? They look pretty same to me except the small logo on the middle white sticker.

Here is the link so i would be grateful for explanations on difference between those 2 cubes.

thx in advance

Hexagonal usually refers to the packaging type.
Try doing the U fingertrick with your right index finger, and the U' fingertrick with your left index finger.

Umm. I'll talk about my experience. In Estonia there' only few cubes. I ordered a c4u cube from DX (about 100 Est Crowns) and I guess it will be better than my 230 EEK type A what I bought from est. That really suckkckckckcs! Btw they just arrived to est :) And the point: Look at internet shops too. Even if you don't trust them (like I did at the first) then just .. dunno but all of them what I know are honest and cheap :)

That's what i do now with U side. But doing U move with my right index finger is so slow and now precise.Sometimes i turn the U side and it "locks" on 45 degrees lol.

I'd say try practicing with triggers such as R U R' U' or R U' R' U to practice your U turn. Doing an R followed by a U turn might help you with timing your index finger to turn the up face. If you have to force it too much, maybe your cube needs a little more lubrication. Hope this helped.

Maybe i should, money isn't problem and i trust online shops mostly.

What i actually want to buy is the cube with high speed turnings, minimized lock ups.Maybe pop-outs are more often on faster cubes but that is not what bothers me.

So what cube would you guys recommend me?and where do i get it online?

I thought about that too.I have some strange problems with my current cube.My green side turns light speed, while others dont. That makes me problems like unintentional B side rotation instead of U side.I tried to clean and re-lubricate the cube but it didnt helped.I didn't use any sand or such.

Ofc i made one mistake.I used petroleum jelly instead of silicon spray.

And cleaning off petroleum jelly from cube is really pain in the a**

I'd get a DIY from Cube4you. They make their own brand which is supposed to be excellent. There's also the types A-F, which are all supposed to be good but type B is usually considered the worst. It's your choice. There's an excellent cube comparison thread in the Hardware Area, but I can't be bothered to find it.

1. From what I've read I'd guess you are left hand dominant, or at least your left index finger is better at turning the U face than your right index finger. Practice will help unless you're doing something totally different with your left doing U' turns than with your right when doing U turns. The motions should be mirror images of each other. Try something silly: Do 8 U turns in a row and see if you can program your finger to do it faster. Or see what mistakes you are making and try to correct them.

2. I can't be sure of this, but I looked at the pictures. The "hexagonal cube" seems to be named that due to the Rubik's logo. See, the logo graphic shows a 3D view of a cube and if you count the number of sides on the cube in the logo, it is 6. A hexagon has 6 sides. This is probably a translation problem (English to Ukrainian), as that name makes no real sense. Bottom line, they are probably both really similar and you've gotten good advice here about buying a DIY cube instead.

Brian.

I think the hexagonal is the packaging.
Like this one: http://www.rubiks.com/Shop/Products/Rubiks Icon Cube.aspx

Sorry, couldn't find the normal cube with that packaging and a picture of it.

About DIY cubes,it's really hard to get them here in Croatia.Because you need to order it online, and for that, you need paypal account. That is the main problem.Payal account is made through your credit card.American express,Visa,Mastercard etc. and all of those Credit cards are hard to get in Croatia. There are a lot of conditions you need to fulfill to get them.I can't do a lot in this.

But i contacted only distributor for Rubik cubes here in Croatia and tried to talk them in getting DIY or at least Eastsheen cubes.

I got encouraging reply. They said that they already talked to eastsheen but they made no deal. They where better luck with DIY.So i could expect DIY cubes to see the light in Croatia. But the problem is that it could take a while. :(

No i'm not. That's the silly thing.

And yes i tried mirrored motion of U' and there is no way i can do it.

I mean i can but i takes to long and most of the time my cube falls on the ground.Literally
