This mod is less confusing than Frank's and MeMyselfAndPi's and it turned out nicely, once I get a V6 I'll have to do this mod

This mod makes perfect sense. The only thing I would be worried about is the vulnerability of the corners being weaker and snapping. However that's just me worrying. It looks like it helps A LOT.

The corners are still very solid. I don't think you have to worry about them, just don't sand them, or only sand them a little bit if you're worried.
