Unofficial world record set on 16.06.2018
49 cubes solved blindfolded in 59:53 +2s penalty for a cube that slipped and moved while I was putting it down

memorization: 38:53 47.6s/cube
execution: 21:00 25.7s/cube
total: 59:53 73.3s/cube

memo splits:
setting up cubes 9s
1-8 5:41
9-16 5:28
17-24 5:32
1-24 5:14
25-32 5:40
33-40 6:04
41-44 2:18
45-48 2:30
49 17s

very proud of this, beats the world record by 7 points :p

I'm fascinated how most people's personal bests tend to hover around 40 minutes memorizing / 20 minutes solving. That really seems to be optimal, no matter how many the cubes.

I wonder if we will ever get to where the split is more like 30 minutes / 30 minutes? Eventually you would think the solving time would force it to get where you would need to move the split that direction. Are you close to that yet?

I was always aiming for 37/23 splits, but usually memo is too slow and I rush exec, like in this solve (39/21 splits). On the other hand Shivam's solves are more fast-memo-oriented - 35/25 iirc

I don't understand why splits should become 30/30 on a higher level, memorization takes longer and has to take longer, if your memo and exec are that close it means you're a terrible solver :p my splits don't move in that direction, my exec is improving along with memo actually,

and I think it's possible to improve exec/cube by a few more seconds, to 20-23s/cube range, as hardware is improving + there is some room for improvement in algs + pauses can be eliminated (49/49 had a few longer ones)

I was doing some calculations today to see what splits would I need for 53 cubes, and it would be around 38.5/21.5, assuming 5:10 for every 8pack, 5min for 1-24 review, 2:30 for a 4pack in the end (that could be done a lot faster tho) and 24.8 exec/cube
