Hello! I am abomb2o11, or Adam. I am hoping that I'm not too late in posting this cause I was scared of you guys... I have a siamese cat named Ginger, I only currently have a 3x3 rubiks brand, and as I don't have any source of income, that probably won't change too soon, other than a speed 3x3. My personal best is 1:08.71, although I haven't timed myself recently. I wouldn't consider myself much of a speedcuber but since this forum is about improvement(I think) and other stuff, I guess I might as well. I haven't gone to a competition and I don't plan to, as they are all far from where I live(plane tickets are expensive) and I'm far too slow anyway :P I am in my second year of mandarin, chinese (or 中文 for showing off).
as I am allotted 1-2 questions on this thread, I was wondering if there is any specific time that getting a speedcube would benefit me the most.

Hi. I'm not a speed cuber either- My average on 3x3 is like a minute.

And the cubing market is so competitive that even without a source of income there are options for you since competition is bringing prices down.

Hello there! Welcome to the world of Rubiks Cubes! My name is Oak! People call me the Rubiks Cube Prof! This world is inhabited by creatures called Rubiks Cubes! For some people, Rubiks Cubes are pets. Other use them for fights. Myself… I study Rubiks Cubes as a profession. First, what is your name? Right! So your name is <abomb2o11>! This is my grandson. He's been your rival since you were a baby. …Erm, what is his name again? That's right! I remember now! His name is <rival>! <player>! Your very own Rubiks Cube legend is about to unfold! A world of dreams and adventures with Pokémon awaits! Let's go!"

Get a speedcube as soon as you can, IMO there's no benefit to playing with a high-friction cube that can't be gained by just turning slower. Some of the Chinese shops have free shipping, so you can get a very good 3x3x3 for under $20 or even under $10.

你好!我十五岁,还有我也学中文。:)你喜欢不喜欢学中文?难吗?你的同学和老师好吗?

That aside, welcome to the forums. :) There's plenty around here to use to help you get better, so feel free to dig around and ask questions when you need to. :) As for a speedcube I highly recommend the Moyu Aolong V2. I've also heard that the YJ Guanlong is very good, especially for the low price.
