(I only watched the stream before noon and this happened in afternoon lol)

I think its no so the scrambles, its the fact that

A) while scrambling you get an advantage seeing the cube (not always)

B) You dont have to take into account starting and stopping the timer

I would say scrambles as well in addition to the things you mentioned.

I tested with stackmat, with GAN scrambles times were significantly better. Also I noticed good EO during F2L and good crosses. But I didn't measure those two things in an objective way (like counting EO or average cross moves or 2gen crosses).
Would love if someone did a good sample size with the math

Edit: Also Ruihang Xu's almost sub 2 solve was ridiculous

Yeah, Gan scrams are not random.

I dont feel that the GanCube Scrambles are better than official Scrambles but maybe I am not good enough to take the advance of a good scramle.

But the fact that you don't need a timer and that you can add the scrambing time to inspection, helps a lot.
