After Wuqiong mentioned it in a Frank Morris Fact, I had to try this: two cubes in one hand, which must support both cubes until they are solved (with that hand).

I got 1:57.21 after three tries. The best strategy I found was resting one on the palm while solving the other one. Exchanging them is fun. :p
I should film this...

Anyone else? Any good techniques?

I can't do this.
I told you I would practice but I'm dropping it every 5 seconds... I'll blame it on the fact my hand span is less than 4 cubes while yours is over 4 cubes. We have a 2 or 3 cubie difference.
The only way I can even think of doing it is to hold one cube with my pinky and then solve the other using mainly index finger but a little bit of ring finger.
Edit: I can do it a little bit better holding one cube with the pinky and ring and using the index as the main turning finger then only very briefly releasing that cube with the ring to turn the side then quick grabbing the cube before the pinky drops it.

keychain cubes allowed? i tried holding two cubes and doing a few turns, then exchanging and it worked but it was really slow. if you post this in UWR though let me know and ill be sure to do one too so you can get it up there.

I just saw this topic and I thought "someone else thought of this before me?"

Lucas! you did it! You are more Frank Morris than Frank Morris!
I only have one 3x3 now, so I shall try it with a 3x3 and a 2x2. I did not intend this for keychain cubes. If you have a key chain, then you can do at least 5 cubes OH.

2 cubes
One 2x2 ES
one 3x3 DIY A

3:57.50 Left hand
2:48.86 Right hand

I OH with left.

Lucas,
How fast can you exchange?
I always mess up in a real solve, but just practicing switching, I can average sub-4 seconds with a best of 3.1x.

What's about:

Frank Morris can solve the 2x2 starting from the Cross?

:P:P:P:P:P:P

btw, nice video Lucas! I never tried it or even thought on it before!

:D

"It is a little known fact that the pyramids in Egypt are actually fully functional pyraminxes built for Frank Morris."

I can't belive that one, pyraminxes are tetrahedrons, not pyramids :p

But I'm sure it is pyramid shaped puzzles built for Frank, that I can belive :)

Edit, on topic: tried the two cubes and manged in 3:43.80. Used palm + two fingres to hold the second cube and three fingres to solve.

Edit more: I'm sure Frank Morris can solve the two cubes at the same time, using some fingres for one and some for the other cube.

finally tried this, and got 5:38.11. the first cube was a bad cube so it took about 3:03, and the second was my speedcube(i don't have an OH cube) and it took 2:35. i usually average around 60-75 for OH so this wasn't too bad. i used my pinky to hold the unused cube against the base of my thumb, and solve the cube with mostly index finger turns and a few ring finger turns.

I didn't have 2 3x3x3's at hand, so I did one 3x3x3 and one 4x4x4: 16:39.58. I was thankful I didn't have OLL parity. I did have PLL parity.

I should have some advantages at this: my hands are fairly large, I've got an Eastsheen 4x4x4 (I think a Rubik's might be a bit harder :)), and I've practiced "multiplex" juggling a fair amount. (Try juggling 6 balls as you would 3, but with 2 thrown by the same hand with each throw. That's a fairly basic multiplex pattern that I can do fairly well.)

ObFrankMorrisFact: Frank Morris can solve the 2x2x2 to 5x5x5 relay while holding all of them in one hand. And stackmat it.

Mike,

That's amazing! I think we need to make a list of Mike Hughey Facts.

Mike Hughey can Do a BLD relay 2x2-7x7 all in one hand.

Nah, that's not right, it's more like:
Mike Hughey is crazy enough to try a BLD relay 2x2-7x7 all in one hand.
Mike Hughey is crazy enough to try a 50 cube 5x5x5 multiBLD.
etc....

:)
